Since 2014, I have been steadily collecting, analyzing and projecting the progression of the sprint events on the international level. Countless hours spent pouring over data and looking for trends have yielded some very interesting findings. With the UCI World Championships kicking off as I type this out, I thought this would be an appropriate time to share my predictions for the first time. This is by no means a perfect science and there are countless factors in play that can drastically effect the performances on any given day. But in spite of these uncontrollable variables, I feel confident that my predictions will be more than just “in the ballpark” so to speak. With all of that in mind, I have ranked my predictions in the order for which I am most confident. Below you will find my calculated expectations for Men’s 200m TT, Women’s 200m TT. Once each event completes, I will do a comparison post and explain any potential reasons for any discrepancies between my expectations and the actual performances.
I hope this will serve as an added bit of fun for following the World Championships and look forward to sharing how I came to these predictions with you. Unless of course I’m spot on, in that case I’ll be selling my work to the highest bidder! Just kidding! Kind of… haha!
